About us...
A hobby that turned into a dream. And named after our daughters.
My story…
As a young adult, I watched my father pull an old sewing machine from the closet to alter a pair of his jeans for a better fit. This seemed like such a valuable skill to have. So I asked him to teach me. After breaking a few needles and almost damaging the machine. I struggled through making a couple of dresses. Finally deciding, I wasn't any good at making things. I did however obtain some repair knowledge that would help me through the years.
Many moons later…
I'm a stay at home mother of 4. As with most stay at home parents, the need to keep costs low are always at the forefront of your mind. What is a better way than being able to make things from scratch.
I decided that my failures in sewing weren't from the lack of ability but rather the lack of knowledge. Although I learned some of the ways to use a sewing machine, I didn't know about sewing machines. So I bought a really nice Janome machine and sat down with the manufacturers book. This, coupled with YouTube videos and hands-on learning, I began to create things.
My need to feed a shopping addiction was so happy. As this opened an endless opportunity of buying new fabrics, threads, hardware and more. I came across a company that sold vinyl material. With patterns I just could not live without. But what to make with vinyl…
I decided to make a bag. It actually looked like a bag. It was functional like a bag. I finally felt accomplished in my new (mostly) self taught skill set.
And then I discovered I could sew leather.
With the unwavering support of my husband a business was born.
My Father passed before I picked up this interest but I know he would have been proud.
